Charlie “Johnny” White, age 78, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, at UHC Clear Lake Hospital following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 6, 1947. A proud veteran, Charlie enlisted in the United States Navy on October 22, 1964, and honorably served his country until his discharge on June 24, 1977. During his service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and carried a deep sense of pride in his time serving his country.
Following his military service, Charlie built a career as a Maintenance Manager, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and leadership.
On August 30, 1980, he married, Linda R. Carroll, and together they shared 43 years of marriage filled with love, family, and devotion.
He is survived by his sisters, Sherry Townsend and her husband, Woody, and Linda White; his brother-in-law, Donald Guess; his children, Vicki Lynn White, John Thomas White and Lisa Hart and her husband, Kevin Hart.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jeanette Nicholson, Charles White, Larry White, and Brenda Guess.
He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his grandchildren: Meagan Haynes and her husband, Chassen Haynes, along with their children, Goldie and Lillian; TSgt Dylan Drenner USAF and his wife, Sarah Drenner; Trey Drenner and his children, Emma and Mila; McKenzie E. White; McKaila L. White; Thomas D. Meehan and his husband Philip Arnold and Kenneth C. Ermis.
Charlie will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and the steady, hardworking life he built. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and commitment that will live on through his family.
A service will be held to honor his life, where his military service will be recognized and a flag will be presented to his family in his honor.
A memorial service to celebrate Charlie’s life is scheduled for 11 am on Saturday, April 11th 2026, at the Evergreen Cemetery.
