Bobbie Brod, age 77, of Wharton, Texas passed away peacefully on April22, 2026 at Hillje nursing center. She was born on July 18, 1948, in Beaumont, Tx to the late Charles and Lois Argo Lominac.

Raised in Houston, she attended and graduated from Milby High School. Bobbie married Max Brod on October 3, 1975, in Houston. They built their dream home in Wharton, Texas where they opened and operated Red Barn Nursery for many years. Max preceded her in death on November 4, 2005. 

Bobbie loved her dogs, raising animals on the farm, tending her plants, and hosting children’s school field trips to her farm to see the animals and learn about her plants. Bobbie and Ted Woetlz, her life partner loved traveling to Wisconsin during the summer where they would go fishing and boating. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Scotty James and Kyle Brod, brother, Kenneth Lominac, grandchildren, Alyson Wass and Brandon James and life partner, Ted Woetlz.

She is survived by her daughters, Teri Penrose of Boerne, Nancy Wass and husband, Randy of Colorado and Linda Brod of Canyon Lake, daughter-in-law, Wanda James, brothers, Charles Lominac and wife, Annie of Wharton and Michael Lominac and wife, Shirley of Wharton, grandchildren, Ashley Schreck, Chris Thieret, Sammy Thieret, Zachary Wass, Kaylea Carroll, Sara Farrow, Kinsey Brod, Berkley Brod, Rebekah Biehle, Johnathan Biehle, Brian Busse and Carl Busse and great grandchildren, Kendall, Payden, Maxwell, Hayden, Conley, Maverick, Sage, Stormy, Jason and Sereena.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Edwards officiating.
