Billy R Taylor

William “Bill” Taylor, 79, of Wharton, Texas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s.  He was born in Wharton County on July 17, 1939 to the late Marvin Allen Taylor and Annie Lee Whitley Taylor. Bill grew up in Wharton and was a lifelong resident.  He married Doris Kemp Taylor on January 25, 1966 and enjoyed 52 loving years together.  He loved spending time with family, cracking jokes, and helping others.  He was one who, “never met a stranger” and loved to talk.  He was preceded in death by his parents. Bill is survived by his wife, Doris Taylor of Wharton, daughter, Sheila Taylor of Lockhart, sons, Michael Taylor and wife, Joanne of Missouri City, Kevin Taylor of Sugar Land, brother, James Taylor of Nursery, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or your favorite charity.
