Arthur Lee Kurtz

Arthur (Sonny) Kurtz, 88, of Spanish Camp, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2021 in a Cypress hospital.  He was born on July 17, 1933 in Glen Flora to the late Arthur and Della Mae Ustynik Kurtz.

Arthur was raised in the Glen Flora area and graduated from Cresent High School. He worked many jobs threw out his life, as a machinest, plumber, tanker driver and farmer. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and flowers, fishing, and making sure his yard and house were in impeccable order. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Emma, step-daughter, Sharron Farmer, and first wife, Emma Kurtz.

He is survived by his daughter, Leeann Dean and husband, Jeffory of Goose Creek, SC, sons, Larry Kurtz and wife, Cindy of Iowa Colony, Garry Kurtz of Spring, Chris Kurtz and wife, Donna of Houston and Brian Kurtz and wife, Kim of Galveston, sister, Joyce Anne Kurtz of New Zealand, brother, Roy Kurtz and wife, Barbara of Wharton, grandchildren, Joanie, Jason, Darin, Tim, Sara, Kevin, Connor, Kaitlyn, Ryann, Casey, Cheyenne, Joseph, Jessie, Grace, Gracie, Joshua, Stephanie and Justin, great grandchildren, Tristan, Christan, Emma, Cecilia, Eve Ann, Kaylee, Kira, Kayden, Krystal, Robert, and Charlie, along with great great grandson, Eli.  

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the Wharton Funeral Home after 9 am with the funeral service starting at 11am with Rev. Kevin Pigg officiating. Burial will follow in Wharton Cemetery in Wharton.
