Archie Brooks Larch, Jr.

Archie B. Larch, Jr., 86, of Wharton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at a Rosenberg hospice center. He was born on April 23, 1938, in Aldine, Texas to the late Archie B. and Ida Antonia Seeliger Larch.

Archie was raised in the Galena Park area and graduated from Galena Park High School. He joined the Texas National Guard and served honorably in the Armored Division. Archie worked as a millwright for Anheuser Busch for over 32 years. He loved hunting and fishing, venturing into the woods, and shooting target practice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Archie B. Larch III and sister, Sanny Mae Laxton.

Archie is survived by his daughters, Deborah Szymczak and husband, Robert of Florida and Charlene Elliott of Paddock Junction, sister, Judy Janak and husband, Vic of Houston, and brother, Rollie Larch and wife, Lupe of Wharton, his grandchildren, Gary Wayne Ellis, James Szymczak, Ashley Elliott and Brad Garrison and his great grandchildren, Thaine, Kaige, Pressley, Lemmy, Stacey, Kalley and Killey along with several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will begin on Thursday, June 6 after 10 am with funeral service starting at 11 am at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm at San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery in Channelview.
