 Antonia Nunez passed into the arms of the Lord on Saturday August 21, 2021 at Oakbend Hospital Wharton.  Antonia was born on December 13, 1939 to the late Dortea and Maximiano Cruz in Gonzales, TX.

Antonia attended school in Gonzales before moving to Wharton.  She was a long time employee at Hinze’s BBQ in Wharton.  Her favorite things to do were to cook for the kids in the family, watching her novellas and she loved to play bingo. 

Antonia is survived by her daughters Gloria Ayala and her husband Tomas of Wharton, Herlinda Nunez of El Campo and Maria Carranza also of El Campo.  She is also survived by her Sisters Elvera Quintana and her husband Richard of Wharton, Maria Rios and her husband Frank of Ft. Worth, Paula ‘Lillie’ Banda and her husband Julio of Humble, 13 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.  Besides her parents, Antonia is preceded in death by her son Michael Nunez, Jr. and her brothers Antonio, Max and Felix.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday August 26, after 5:00 P.M. at Wharton Funeral Home.  Rosary to begin at 7:00 P.M.  Friends may also call on Friday from 9:30 – 11 A.M. at the funeral home.  Religious service to begin at 11:00 A.M.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
