Anthony Alvin Wasicek

Anthony Alvin Wasicek   Anthony Wasicek, age 69, of Guy and formerly of Boling, passed away on Monday evening, July 23, 2018 at a Sugar Land hospital with his family at his side.  He was born May 2, 1949,  in Wharton to the late Alvin Jerry and Rosemary Raabe Wasicek.   Anthony was raised in Boling and graduated from Boling High School class of 1967. He served our country in the United States Navy.  Following his Honorable Discharge, he worked for Texasgulf Sulphur for 23 years before retiring from Hudson Products. He married Theresa Pavlicek on September 8, 2007 in Damon.  He enjoyed his time outdoors, gardening, canning, fishing, raising chickens, dancing and listening to Polka music, and enjoyed entertaining friends and family with BBQing and crawfish boils. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “Boom Boom” Wasicek and father-in-law, Henry Pavlicek and mother-in-law Henrietta Pavlicek.   Anthony is survived by his wife, Theresa Wasicek of Guy, sons, Scott Wasicek and wife Meshell of Houston, Troy Wasicek of Boling and Ryan Wasicek of Sugarland, brothers, Michael Wasicek of Boling and Kenneth Wasicek of Sheridan, grandchildren, Lauryn Wasicek, Kyle Wasicek, Madisyn Fruge, and Britany Cooper, great grandchildren, Wyatt Hanks, and Loralei Hanks along with numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law nieces, nephews and friends.   Visitation will be from 12 noon until 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home, and then from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at St Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in 603 Parrot Ave, Damon with a parish rosary recited at 7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church, with the Rite of Internment to follow in the parish cemetery next door. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Wasicek, Scott Wasicek, Jerry Svatek, Jr., Douglas Wasicek, Kyle Wasicek, and Johnny Barak with Jody Buchta and Frankie Maroul serving as honorary pallbearers.
