Albert Lauter

April 28, 1918 — April 8, 2018

Albert Lauter was born on April 28, 1918 and passed away on April 8, 2018.  Albert was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in the Heights.  He was married to Dorothy Bass Lauter and had two daughters, Judy Reinhardt and Bobbie Cason.  His grandchildren were Brandon Reinhardt, Ryan Cason and Brant Cason.  He also had four great grandchildren, Chandler, Claire, Johnathon and Cameron.  He served in the Navy in WWlI for four years.  While he was working at Dickson Gun Plant, he was offered three deferments but turned them all down so he could "fight for my country".  He worked as an electrician for Fisk Electric Co. in Houston after the war.  He retired and moved to Wharton in 1980 where he was a member of First United Methodist Church, which he helped wire electrically. He was an avid gardener and always had a vegetable garden and many fruit trees. You could always find him in his garden.  He also loved to piddle in his garage, fixing things.  He was a good person and will be sorely missed by family and friends.  A graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 3511 Cty. Rd. 166, Wharton, at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 14th.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
