CARMEN R. McCARTHY Mrs. Carmen Ramirez McCarthy, age 90 of Boling died Sunday June 10, 2012 in a Wharton Hospital following an extended illness. She was born on September 23, 1921 in Dallas, TX the daughter of the late Alejandrino Ramirez and Juana Lara Ramirez. Mrs. McCarthy was a graduate of Boling High School in 1941 and was Baptist by Faith. She married Andrew Jackson McCarthy on January 5, 1943 in Houston, TX and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1992. She worked as an assembly line installer for Texas Instruments for twenty years prior to her retirement. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Boling and had been a resident of Boling since 1962. Friends may call for visitation Wednesday evening, June 13, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wharton Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Don Hurley officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 2 pm Thursday at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Roades of South Houston, TX, Marie Mott and husband Jerry, of Spurger, TX and Dolores Tumlinson Lee husband Clinton of Waller, TX; son, Andrew J. McCarthy, Jr. of Manvel, TX, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Scott Tumlinson, Anthony Tumlinson, Johnny Ramirez, Michael Ramirez, Charles Tumlinson and Bradley Bynum. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
