Anthony Ramirez Mr. Anthony Ramirez, age 61, of Wharton died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in a Wharton nursing home following an extended illness. He was born on May 17, 1951 in Wharton, Texas, the son of the late Ramon and Olivia Lopez Ramirez. Mr. Ramirez was a long-time resident of Bay City. He worked in the oil industry as a foreman for many years. On January 18, 2008, he married Celinda Benavides in Bay City. In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Martinez. Visitation was held on Wednesday evening, June 6, 2012 at the Wharton Funeral Home. Following Cremation, memorial graveside services will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife, Celinda Ramirez of Bay City, daughters, Belinda, Barbara, Mary all of Austin, and Jessica Benavidez of La Grange, sons, Anthony, Dominic, and Christopher Ramirez, all of Austin and Leeroy Ramirez of Bay City sisters, Lucy Martinez, Janie Pena, Delores Ramirez and Mary Campos and brothers, Alex, Joe, Ricky, Jessie, and Johnnie Ramirez and 30 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
