Pedro Longoria Mr. Pedro Longoria, age 69 of Eagle Lake, died on Sunday evening, June 3, 2012 in a Sugar Land hospital following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on February 21, 1943 in Bonus Texas to the late Ernesto and Consuelo Herrera Longoria. Pedro was raised in the Bonus area and attended school there. He worked as a farmer for many years in the Bonus and surrounding areas. On February 4, 1967, he married Carmel Leal in Eagle Lake. Pedro enjoyed fishing, gardening, farming, and Bar Be Queing for friends and family. Pedro was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Nada. In addition to his parents, Pedro was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Longoria, brothers Robert, and Domingo Longoria and sister Antonia Lara. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 10:00 am at St Marys Catholic Church in Nada with Father Joe Vrana officiating. A rosary and visitation was held the evening before at Wharton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Nada. Survivors include his wife, Carmel Longoria of Eagle Lake, daughter, Connie Longoria of Eagle Lake; sisters, Lupe Franklin and husband, Ed of Rosharon, TX, Adela Aguilar of Pasadena, TX, Julia Saucedo of Needville, TX and Rafaela Rocha and husband, Michael of Baytown, TX; brothers, Ernest Longoria, Jr. of Glen Flora, Lupe Longoria and wife, Janie, and Johnny Longoria and wife Marcela, all of Houston, Joe Longoria and wife, Virginia, and Steve Longoria and wife, Norma, all of Egypt, TX, David Longoria and wife, Paula, and Roy Longoria all of Wharton, Alfred Longoria and Rene Longoria both of Bonus, TX and Emmitt Longoria and wife, Jennifer of East Bernard, TX, and four grandchildren, Kali Longoria, Siriah Rodriguez, Ivonne Rodriguez and Aubree Rodriguez of Eagle Lake. Pallbearers were Adam Leal, John Perez, Sr., John Leal, Jr., Rene Longoria, Jr., Kit Saucedo, Tommy Franklin, Carlos Reyes and Raymond Leal, Jr. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home, Inc.
