Mary Ann Pospisil

Mary Ann Pospisil Mrs. Mary Ann Laitkep Pospisil, age 72 of Wharton died Monday, May 21, 2012 in a Palacios Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on October 7, 1939 in East Bernard, TX the daughter of the late John Laitkep and Marie Margaret Mazoch Laitkep. Mrs. Pospisil was a long-time resident of Hungerford and Wharton and attended St. John’s Catholic Church in Hungerford and Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and a member of the KJZT. Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Laitkep and a nephew, Greg Laitkep. A rosary was recited Thursday evening, May 24th at the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home and funeral services were held at 10:00 am Friday, May 25th at the Wharton Funeral Home with Father Dominic Antwi-Boasiako officiating. Burial followed in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth & April Pospisil of Wharton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest & Delores Laitkep and George Laitkep all of Pearland, Charles Laitkep of Houston, Johnny Laitkep, Bernard & Linda Laitkep, Anthony& Jeanette Laitkep, Patrick & Clara Laitkep and Frankie & Gertrude Laitkep all of Wharton. Granddaughters, Annie Pospisil and Jenny Pospisil both of Wharton. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Pallbearers were her brothers. In lieu of usual remembrances the family requests memorials to Holy Family Catholic Church Building Fund, 2011 Briar Ln., Wharton, TX 77488 OR St. John’s Catholic Church, P.O. Box 121, Hungerford, TX 77448. Funeral services were under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home.
